OwnVouch
Proof of who owns a device, not just who has it.

The app
The same registry on a phone: check a serial, hold the passport for a device, and sign a handover from your pocket.

Problem
A receipt proves a purchase. It does not prove the thing is still yours, and it says nothing about who has held it since. In a second-hand sale, the buyer has a photo of a serial number and the seller's word. A stolen phone can be resold for want of a record that says otherwise, and an honest seller has no way to show they are the rightful owner.
We wanted one neutral record that any buyer, seller or insurer could check, and that no single manufacturer or marketplace controls.
What we built
A registry that keeps the holder and the history of a device, signed by both sides at the moment it changes hands:
- Register. A device and its serial are entered once and held against their owner.
- Vouch. A public lookup anyone can use, free and without an account, to check a serial or IMEI before buying.
- Hand off. A handover both sides sign, so the chain of custody carries over instead of restarting.
